Religious Education Training Document--> use this to under the AO's to tie RE into the curriculum.
Catholic Schools History:
Bishop Pompallier was the first Catholic Bishop in NZ, schools were all founded by the community until 1975 when the Conditional Integration Act came into play.

" Provide opportunities for children to encounter Christ, grown in the knowledge of faith and become christian witnesses who have a life long relationship with Christ."
- Catholic Schools Purpose

RE needs to be interwoven throughout the NZ Curriculum, make all lessons transdisciplinary and always have Jesus at the center.

MAHI TAHI

Today we had our first session of Mahi Tahi, it was awesome seeing the children work together towards a joint outcome.
The students worked on a collaborative collage art piece across years 5,6, 7 and 8. It was a great way for the new students and students who have moved from the junior school to connect with the older students and seniors of the school.
During Mahi Tahi students work on the 4 C's; Collaboration, Creativity, Communication and Critical Thinking. Students who have participated in Mahi Tahi in the past were able to discuss and share what the 4 C's may look like in today's activity.
Overall it was successful, students enjoyed themselves and were able to demonstrate the 4 C's while also upholding the school values. I am looking forward to future Mahi Tahi sessions and seeing the students grow as a whanau.
